Your gums frame your teeth, so they change how your smile looks. Gum contouring, also called gum reshaping, sculpts gum that is excessive or uneven so your teeth and gums look in proportion.
We do it with a dental laser and numbing agents, to keep you comfortable and help the gum heal quickly.
Why a laser

- Lasers can also treat the effects of serious gum disease (periodontal disease).
When it helps
- Too much gum, which makes a “gummy” smile.
- An uneven gum line, which some people find embarrassing.
- Teeth that look too small, because extra gum hides part of them.
- Gum treatment. Contouring is sometimes part of periodontal procedures such as pocket reduction, and it is often done alongside crowns, porcelain veneers and crown lengthening.
